Following my uncle’s funeral today, everyone went to a local barbecue place for lunch. It was wonderful to celebrate his life with family. I knew there wouldn’t be much available for me to eat, so I came prepared with leftovers of all the dishes my mom had prepared yesterday. The lemongrass stir-fry, eggplant/sweet potato stir fry, quinoa salad, some roasted chicken, and the gf flatbread I made the other day with pine nut hummus. Please forgive the lack of pictures.
I made myself a green drink with the imuno-build mix and two packets of chlorella. Fighting off a headache and feeling pretty run down. The swelling around the lesion on my lip went down a bit during the day, but the one on my tongue felt more painful than before, and caused some discomfort at lunch. Definitely nothing that’s a big deal at this point. I think it’s just the stress of travel yesterday, and then the emotional strain of the purpose of the trip. My wonderful, supportive family (especially my mom) is making every effort to make it as easy as possible for me to stick to my diet and stay healthy, despite the unavoidable stresses of life and travel. This is the first time I’ve been away from home (my safe zone) since I got out of the hospital. I’m not totally confident about how my body’s going to deal with everything, but it’s doing alright so far. And spending this time with family is certainly worth it.
